Pumpkin Huntin’

There is no date day like pumpkin huntin’ with your spouse. We’re big fans of carving Jack-o-lanterns and the husband decided to go big this year. He bought a fancy clay tool set and a nice, new pumpkin carving set with a storage case. That boy has plans. It was a chilly fall day and we got lunch while we were out. It was a small thing that lifted our spirits.

The options.
The winners.

Do you have big jack-o-lantern plans this year? What was your favorite jack-o-lantern that you ever carved?

Welcome to our little blog of horrors, Sugar & Scream! If you're looking for a monstrously good time, rest assured, you've come to the right place. We're two best friends with a sisterhood forged in the Unholy Trinity that is Horror, Fantasy and Science Fiction. When we're not busy devouring books, we're cooking up sinisterly scrumptious baked goods and other delights (and sometimes horrors) in our kitchens. Expect the unexpected, because we like to shake things up. Our blog is its own Frankenstein's Monster of our hobbies and passions all stitched together into one glorious abomination that encompasses everything from what we're reading and watching, to the hobbies we're working on, to our adventures in baking and plenty more!

  1. I got a weird white pumpkin (squash?) with orange lines on it. It’s in my living room. I keep thinking I may carve it this weekend and see what’s inside. I hadn’t originally because I wanted my decorations indoors and didn’t like the idea of a slowly rotting gourd in my apartment.

    1. We almost bought a creepy Frankenstein-like gourd of some kind when we were pumpkin hunting. It was large, a weird green and looked like an overexaggerated cartoon pumpkin. Never seen it before but we decided to axe buying it last minute.
I don’t like rotting gourds in my house either.
